" alt=""> Although Bokiño is all about connecting kids with books, it’s a digital platform designed to be used primarily by adults. Creating an identity for both young and old that married analogue and digital was essential to its success. The name Bokiño is a combination of the Swedish word for book (bok) and the Spanish word for child (niño). The concept “for readers little and big” conveys the universality of the brand among children of all ages. To offset the cluttered context of a chaotic children’s library, a calm and muted colour palette with an ingenious word mark was required that would appeal to parents and children alike. Born from the tagline ‘for readers little and big’, the letters of Bokiño’s word mark each have a different x-height to represent children at varying ages. In small spaces, the letters regroup to form a symbol that shows two children walking hand in hand. The result is a logotype that moves easily between small and large contexts: it can be tiny, it can be big and it can animate.
