The primary function of a box is to shield its precious contents from outer harm. At GBGT Box, this functionality is elevated to an art-form while keeping a strong focus on sustainability. 'A Lovely Atmosphere' is a nested collection of five premium boxes – a metaphor for the Earth's atmospheric layers – that not only communicates the sustainable approach of GBGT Box but also showcases their exceptional craftsmanship.

'A Lovely Atmosphere' consists of five different boxes, with each box telling a story and offering a visual interpretation of the five layers of the Earth's atmosphere. The title of the outmost box is typed with an anamorphic perspective to visualise the gravitational loss that occurs in the final layer of the atmosphere – the exosphere.
When opening the box, the tray unfolds to reveal the next layer of the atmosphere. The boxes’ trays are made of coloured board.
Each box has a seamless cubic shape thanks to precision slicing, a technology GBGT Box has spent years perfecting.
Inside the final box lies a precious gift, a Ginkgo seed, which recipients can plant to contribute to a lovely atmosphere.
Each box comes with a list of material components and a carbon footprint calculation to raise awareness of the impact the packaging industry has on the environment. It also highlights GBGT Box's low-impact packaging.
GBGT Box specialises in climate-smart, functional packaging for the premium sector, creating boxes that protect products, excite consumers, and reaffirm sustainable brand values. Few in the packaging industry communicate the impact of their products on the planet, but GBGT Box is determined to change the industry standard by explaining the carbon footprint of its boxes.
Without the fine balance of its five atmospheric layers, Earth would be nothing more than another rock floating in space. Thanks to its 'lovely atmosphere', it sustains all sorts of incredible life. Just as the atmosphere protects life on Earth, so a box shields its contents from harm. With their low-impact materials and construction, GBGT Box goes one step further, protecting life on Earth, too while producing premium crafted packaging.
To celebrate GBGT Box's commitment to sustainability 'A Lovely Atmosphere' is both a catalogue of the brand's materials and techniques and an object that honours the fragility of our planet. Its five nested boxes act like a matryoshka, with each layer detailing the unique qualities of the exosphere, thermosphere, mesosphere, stratosphere, and troposphere through five unique artworks.

The thermosphere is the final outpost of the Earth's atmosphere, where satellites and space stations are in permanent orbit. Meals served here are fine dining at its highest, exemplified by mocked-up food packaging for astronauts.
Meteors burn bright in the mesosphere before colliding with Earth’s surface and becoming meteorites. The most famous of these extraterrestrial stones are illustrated on the mesosphere box.
The Earth’s ozone layer in the stratosphere absorbs the majority of the Sun’s ultraviolet radiation.
The troposphere is the layer of the atmosphere closest to the Earth's surface where 99% of water vapour is found and all life exists. Troposphere illustration by Stina Persson.
